Next Week in Math
Tomorrow all classes will be participating in the Math Marathon. If you haven't heard about this - talk with your child! This is a great way to stay fresh on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

Below you will find our plans for next week in each class. Please remember that these plans are subject to change. We try to plan as closely as possible, but occasionally, we have sudden changes to our schedules.

Math
– Classes 1 and 2 will have their test over division on Friday. This will cover dividing up to 4 digits by 1 digit. On Wednesday, we will begin our unit on algebraic thinking. Class 3 had their test over 2 digit by digit multiplication today. On Friday, they will complete an open response and take a pretest for division.

Science – This short week in Science we will be finishing up our soil unit and taking a test. Folders will come home tomorrow, Fri., Nov. 4th. Our test will be Thursday, Nov. 10. Students have been working hard on their articles about Falls of the Ohio and we will continue those on Friday.

Reading – Spanish continues, as does our research and writing. We are hitting several key skills for 4th grade with this, including gathering and organizing information, informative writing, cooperative group skills, as well as speaking using audio/visual aids and listening. We will be wrapping this project up and doing or presentations next week. In lieu of homework, please have your child spend a few minutes daily reading material of their choice. Pizza Hut pizzas are available for the month of November as well.

Social Studies – Next week we will be discussing the importance of Veteran’s Day. We will also be writing friendly letters to Veteran’s that are staying in the VA hospital in Lexington and Louisville to show our respect and gratitude.
