Tuesday, December 6, 2011

We will have our third Math Marathon this Friday. This is an exciting way for our kids to stay fresh on their basic calculation skills. If you haven't heard about this, talk with your child. You can help by reviewing the steps for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems. Then, give them some problems to practice!
Just a friendly reminder that birthday party invitations are not allowed to be distributed at school. For further information on this topic, please refer to the student handbook. Thanks for your help in this matter!
This week in Math...

Class 1 will be working with factors and multiples and learning how to tell is a number is prime or composite.
Class 2 will be working with expressions and equations this week.
Class 3 had their division test Today. Unfortunately, the results were not good. Please be on the lookout for the test - it will be coming home this afternoon. Students in this class will have the opportunity to make corrections to their test and bring it back with a parent signature for partial credit on the test. After that, they will begin working with expressions and equations.
